hp-Adaptive Solution Sequence

This sequence illustrates an hp-adaptive analysis of a connecting rod under a pressure load. The target error tolerance was set at 5 percent. The figures show mesh adaptivity, solution parameters (including global error), elementwise error indicators and von Mises stress, all plotted on a deformed configuration (displacement scale exaggerated). Note how deformation and stresses increase with improved mesh quality.
