HyperXtrude/PROCESS is a software solution for optimizing metal extrusion processes to improve the productivity and reduce cost.

The analysis and optimization module of Altair HyperXtrude/PROCESS uses the profile geometry, material properties, extrusion press parameters, and die geometry to determine the optimum process conditions, billet length, billet preheat and taper. The optimization module helps the extrusion plants increase productivity and reduce the scrap.

The productivity calculations module of Altair HyperXtrude/PROCESS allows the user to run the simulation on multiple presses and determine the productivity of each press. The optimum process conditions are used for the productivity calculations.

The cost analysis module of Altair HyperXtrude/PROCESS helps remove guesswork out of cost-estimation. The productivity data for each press, the raw material costs, plant operation costs, and related overhead costs are used to determine the production costs to extrude a given profile.
